Everything You Need to Know About Foods that Cause Abortion in Pregnancy

Expectant mothers experience intense emotions during pregnancy. No woman would risk her unborn child’s health. Pregnancy is a time when the body undergoes many changes.

When creating your diet plan, make sure you avoid certain things. You can stay active and healthy by paying more attention to what you eat, how you live, and how much you consume.

These foods could cause miscarriage in the first, second, and third trimesters.

5 foods that can cause miscarriage during the first trimester

1. Pineapple

Your risk of stillbirth increases if you eat a pineapple or drink pineapple juice in your first trimester. After a contraction due to pineapple bromelain, a miscarriage can occur.

2. Mercury-rich Fish

Women should be cautious when eating fish during the first trimester. Many fish species contain high levels of mercury, including swordfish and king mackerel as well as tuna and marlin. It can have an effect on a baby’s brain and the entire neurological system, raising concerns about the possibility of a child being mentally unstable or immature.

3. Caffeine

It is okay to consume coffee while pregnant if you do so in moderation. The use of caffeine during pregnancy has been shown to increase miscarriage rates and a smaller birth weight.

4. Aloe Vera

Can aloe vera cause birth defects? Aloe vera juice should not be consumed by pregnant women as it can cause pelvic haemorrhage. It can cause miscarriage due to bleeding in the uterus. Anthraquinones are a laxative that causes uterine contractions.

5. Papaya

This is one of many common meals that can cause miscarriage. Unripe or green papayas contain lots of enzymes and pus which can cause miscarriage and uterine contraction. Miscarriage can be caused by enzymes. Avoid pregnancy if you are pregnant.

4 Foods that can cause miscarriage during the second trimester

During the second trimester, pregnant women should eat a healthy diet rich in iron, folate and protein. These meals can lead to miscarriage in the second trimester.

  1. Soft cheeses such as feta or blue cheese
  2. Ready to eat seafood and meat?
  3. Raw meat, eggs, and fish.
  4. Dairy products that have not been pasteurized

Foods that can cause miscarriage during the third trimester

These should be avoided during your third trimester.

  1. Salt Avoid salty foods like potato chips and fries.
  2. Raw or uncooked vegetables shouldn’t be eaten as they can cause digestive problems. Before you eat any vegetable, make sure they are properly cooked.
  3. Spicy Foods: Avoid spicy foods during the last trimester. They can cause heartburn and indigestion.

5 Foods to Avoid Abortion

  1. Vitamin C rich fruits and vegetables such as broccoli, oranges, bell peppers and bell peppers promote infant development.
  2. Iron-rich foods such as beans and lentils, green leafy vegetable, pork, and other vegetables all aid the mother in producing more blood for her baby.
  3. Calcium-rich food such as yogurt, cow’s milk and hard cheeses, as well as almonds and broccoli, will help with bone and tooth formation.
  4. Salmon, trout and canned light tuna all contain high levels of Omega-3 fatty acid (EHA/DHA). Prenatal vitamins that contain Omega-3s are a good option if you don’t like fish.
  5. Water intake to maintain hydrationhelps with the efficient transfer nutrients to the baby’s bloodstream. It may also help to prevent constipation, haemorrhoids and other infections of the urinary tract.

Take Away

When pregnant, it is important to eat a healthy and balanced diet. To get all the necessary vitamins and minerals, you need to eat foods from all food groups. It is essential to be modest. A developing foetus might be affected if there is excess food consumed. We recommend that you speak with your gynaecologist as well as your dietitian in this situation.
